The dinner party was an enormous success, THANK YOU Angela, Gordon and the Stewards, Evan and David. It went off without a hitch (not that we could see anyway, and that is what counts!). The boys did an amazing job with serving and cleaning up the table. Conversation was lively and we all had a great time!
The food was great and we couldn’t stop from finishing everything on our plates. My contribution of three (for recipes click here, here and here) of the ten courses were also well received. The table was beautifully set with the hand made branded napkins, the branded chargers and Angela’s wedding china and Silverware. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I certainly felt like I was on an opulent vessel being served a Michelin Five-Star meal! And we didn’t sink, which was a real bonus.
We dined for 5 hours, enjoying every last morsel and libation. The party went on until one o’clock in the morning, at which time, we thanked our hosts and drove silently home, pondering the forthcoming events of that fateful evening one hundred years ago.
Here is a quick recap of the evening, and that is likely the last you’ll have to endure Titanic mania at least until next year (there is talk to have this event yearly!
)
A quick recap of the invitations.

I suppose this was directed toward the Gentlemen, as the Ladies were likely not invited into the casino!

I created memento booklets for the event. It had our menu, the guest list and some titillating trivia about the grand vessel.
Here is the entire booklet: MomentoBooklet_BlogNew

Oh, I’ve been so looking forward to hearing about this dinner party. The only thing missing is some video footage! What a great night. I would have loved to have joined you. It’s wonderful you were able to honour the survivors and victims in this atrocious tragedy xx
Thanks Charlie, I wish I had taken photos of the food, but I got caught up in the festivities and it slipped my mind! I’ll have to recreate the recipes next year!
I’m so glad you posted pictures of your dinner. I’ve been waiting to see the outfits you all pulled together. Fabulous!!!! And a 5 hour dinner? That sounds like a great night. I second Charlie – I would love to have been there.
Hi Kristy,
It would have been great to have all my blogging friends there…it truly was a memorable evening. Angela made her dress, Renata got her dress from her Mother in Switzerland, it was her great Aunt’s dress who was born in the late 1800′s, Denise rented her dress, Ginger was in a more contemporary outfit, I got my dress from my friend Monica. We hardly noticed the time go by.
What fun! Don’t you all look nice all dressed up, including the stewards.
Thank you Sharyl, it was truly a lovely evening.
What a great evening! Everyone looked so elegant and I bet they loved your contributions. Thanks for sharing your incredible evening with us, Eva.
Thank you for your kind words John, all of the courses were incredible!
I’ve been looking forward to this! Even if I didn’t go, it still feels like I got to (vicariously) be a part of the festivities. Looks like a wonderful time!
Thanks Bill, it made it extra fun to be able to blog about it after! I look forward to reliving the event in the future when it is all but a distant memory.
I was going to ask about photos of the food, but then saw your response about enjoying yourself instead of shooting….as it should be!
You all look so grand, and it looks like a truly elegant and wonderful evening.
I was very disappointed, Betsy, but the photos would have had that golden tinge of a flash, night photo…not preferable. I may have to make some of the recipes and shoot them. Thank you for your kind compliment, it really was an elegant evening.
Looks like an amazing party! Dressing up and the food, it all sounds elegant and like a great evening!
Thank you Erin, it was very fun, and although we only knew the host, there was no lull in conversation and we hardly noticed it was 1am.
A first class group of passengers for a first class supper.
And monogrammed gold plates (or are they chargers) as well napkins. Very impressive.
Thank you kindly Maria, they are indeed chargers. It’s all about the details, is it not?
Definitely all about the details, Eva. Kudos to everyone involved in the planning and execution. And the stewards seemed pretty professional as well as cute in their tux-like aprons
Please excuse the typos. Yesterday was a long day and today wasn’t much better so I’ve been skimping on my proof-reading in favour of early nap time.
Looks like it was a tremendously fun affair to have partaken in. I might be a tad jealous.
Indeed it was Jed; there is talk of making it a yearly event
Aaaaw, what a wonderful evening! I’d be up for a 5-hr feast myself!
Thank you kindly Yudith, it was a lovely and memorable evening. As I mentioned on Jed’s comment, there is talk to make it a yearly event.
The party must have been unforgettable. Even hand made napkins? I’m impressed! You must have had so much fun.
Thank you Sissy, it was a wonderful evening of great food, great conversation and getting acquainted with new friends.
TI’s every bit as fun and glamorous as I’d imagine your Titanic dinner party to be!
Wow, thank you Lorraine for such a flattering compliment, I shall pass it along to our lovely hosts that evening. We did indeed have a wonderful time, and I must say I was a bit jealous I didn’t think to have a party like this myself. But then again, I didn’t have to stress about it either, and I didn’t have built in stewards!
Oh my Goodness Eva, what an event! Everything from the invitations to the homemade napkins to the dazzling roses on the table and of course everyone’s dashing attire – just sensational! So much fun to orchestrate a party like this…I wish I had the energy – lol –
.
Thank you kindly Kelly, I didn’t orchestrate it but I can only imagine serving 10 people 10 courses might be a bit stressful. It certainly helped to have help with some of the courses. It was a blast though, and we’re talking about having another one, perhaps annually!
o my…what a fantastic event!
Thanks Angie, it sure was memorable.
Hi Eva! WOW it looks fun! I like the dress up part, and of course eating… Every details (from invitations to handmade napkins etc) look amazing. It’s so nice that you have good friends who share the love of food and get to enjoy this event. I wish I was there!
Thank you for your kind words, Nami, it was indeed a memorable event.
how cool! thanks for sharing!

Thank you kindly, it was a very fun night. There is talk about doing it annually.
I have to be honest.. I’ve never heard of so much going into a dinner party before.. this is really just over-the-top impressive!! And inspiring as well.. I can just imagine you all there together savoring each bite from those ten courses.. wow.. ten courses, I just can’t imagine how wonderful this must have been! And loads of fun judging by your photos!!
Thanks Barbara, Angela did all of the work; she is such a put together lady and I admire her project management abilities. Her boys were great too and I totally loved the fact that they were also into it. We did have loads of fun.
This is such a fantastic way of honouring the event 100 years later – absolutely fabulous my friend! You all look so elegant
The food must have been fabulous!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Thanks CCU, everything about the evening was truly wonderful.
How did I miss this post until today????? I have been so waiting to read all about the party. Everyone is so elegantly dressed, what an evening to remember!!!!!
I would have no problem sitting for 5 hours dining on a 10-course banquet. How many different wines were served?
Thanks for sharing, thoroughtly enjoyed reading.
Hi Norma, that’s nice of you to say, it was lovely. We started with an Italian prosecco, and went on from there to have 9 different libations! Sadly I am unable to mix so I stuck to white wine for the duration!
I was really waiting for this post
it sounds magical and such a wonderful experience!
I love how elegant you all look
Thank you kindly Sawsan, it indeed was a memorable evening that I shall not soon forget. The food was exceptional too and meeting new people is always fun. Angela and Gordon really put together this party perfectly.
I know that after all the work that went into the event, the outcome had to be nothing but a memorable evening.
What an amazing night you must have had! I love the attention to detail!!
Thank you, it was indeed a very lovely evening. Thank you for coming back and commenting!
