We are having my good friend (and boss) Kim, her hubby Rob (the TV Star as he so loves to remind us – we’ll get to that later) and their lovely daughter Chloé. I’ve had a few bad hits with dinner with Chloé (she used to eat everything and now she is 7!) so  we’re [...]

Several years ago, our good friends Barb and Kevin came up to the Upper Deck for a long weekend (pre nupitals and kids) and Barb made this delicious Grilled Cheese Lunch from Cottage Life Magazine. Now I don’t have the exact recipe, but it’s not rocket science so I wing it and I’ve been making [...]

I was blog surfing a couple of weeks ago and came across this recipe from An Indian Kitchen in France. It is SOOOO good and not nearly as bad for you as the restaurant variety. I made the paneer exactly as Chandra’s recipe, but I admit I made a few modifications to the gravy recipe. [...]

For breakfast for Mr. Doran, I made Cinnamon Buns, something I haven’t made for years (for obvious reasons). I found this recipe in one of my old favourite cookbooks, Fanny Farmer. I just cut the recipe directly in half, and of course, I frosted them with a simple icing sugar frosting! The recipe below states [...]

There is an absolutely fabulous Italian grocery store in the concourse of the Food Network building in Chelsea, New York. They carry a lovey range of imported dry goods, canned goods, cheeses, olive oils, balsamic vinegars chocolates and candies! Whenever we are in New York City I stock up! My best find has been dehydrated [...]

We had Anna, André, Barb and Kevin for dinner Saturday night. It was a bit of a challenge because Anna is a vegetarian (no fish, but she does eat dairy and eggs). I love these types of challenges – it really tests my creative and cooking abilities.
Menu

H.D.: Roasted Red Peppers with Sheeps Milk Feta and [...]

I had a brick of feta left over from the spanakopita exercise so I whipped up a delicious appetizer on Sunday for cocktail hour. Unfortunately, I didn’t photograph it – next time! I made up the recipe per cap, so it’s easy to extrapolate!
Ingredients:

2-3 mushroom caps per person (about 2″ in diameter works well [...]
