Well, isn’t it? I discovered I was a “foodie” when cable TV started broadcasting shows about cooking. I was addicted. Biba’s Italian Kitchen and Death by Chocolate were my early favorites, then came The Inn Chef, with Michael Smith. I diligently copied down recipes and tried them in my little kitchen in the beach. Michael Smith’s recipes were laborious but delicious, very high food with lots and lots of components (I have to admit, one of his menus took me about 13 hours to prepare and by the time dinner was served, I was exhausted!). Now, my focus is fresh, fast and easy food. The shows inspire me and I use this inspiration to come up with my own recipes. I love to present my food like a restaurant would.
I was a project manager for a graphic design house a few years ago and we specialized in food packaging. Because we were small, I was fortunate enough to be able to try my hand at food styling for our own in house photography (at the time I wondered if I missed my calling?).
In 2007, my husband and I updated our kitchen; we actually put on 100 square feet to the kitchen and basement of our 1928 craftsman style home (see my other blog which is now closed, but you can see some photos The Big Reno). It was a nightmare, but now that it’s over, the kitchen is like a dream come true.
Today, because of various circumstances I have been fortunate enough to realize my dream of becoming a food stylist and it’s been a labour of love ever since.
This blog holds recipes, menus and photos of my successes and failures. It should be a good ride! Thanks for dropping by.

Hello! I just found your blog and I’m absolutely impressed by the quality of the recipes you have here! Well done! I’m an Italian dad who has been living outside of Italy for almost 15 years now and I’ve recently decided to share all I know around Italian cuisine – especially from the South of Italy – on my website italianfoodboss.com and my YouTube channel youtube.com/italianfoodboss .
I’d be grateful if you’d wish to have a look!
Ciao ciao and congratulations again on what you have managed to build in a few short years!
